Abstrakt

The analysis of direct contact hygroscopic condensation of cold low pressure vapors on a hot film of a hygroscopic brine elucidates this complex heat and mass transfer process. The driving force is the difference between the partial pressures of water in the condensing vapor and the brine. The non-isothermal absorption affects an opposing thermal driving force in the vapor phase. The overall transfer characteristics are determined by the various resistances to heat and mass transfer at different operating conditions.
