Abstrakt

For arbitrary symmetrical cylinders, where the free stream velocity may be expanded in a power series of the body arc length, series solutions for the momentum and energy equations are developed for a purely viscous, non-Newtonian fluid whose shear stress is given by the model of Ostwald-deWaele. The Blasius series approach is used and leads to an infinite set of ordinary differential equations whose solutions are universal functions. Calculations for an isothermal circular cylinder are presented as an example.
