Abstrakt

The liquid metal heat transfer experimental investigations were carried out on joint MPEI-IIHI magneto hydrodynamic (MHD) complex. The united scientific group examines the liquid metal flow in a horizontal heated tube without and under longitudinal or transverse magnetic field. Various configurations of applied heat flux were taken into consideration. The heat flux distribution was uniform along the tube but non-uniform along the tube cross-section perimeter. The following regimes of heating are considered: 1) uniform wall heat flux distribution; 2) non-uniform heating - heat flux on the left half of the tube is not equal to one on the right half of tube q1 ≠ q2. All these cases correspond to a flow in Tokamak fusion reactor blanket or divertor.
Temperature fields, temperature fluctuations field, heat transfer intensities and velocity profiles were measured. Strong influence of thermogravitational convection (TGC) was observed in horizontal heated tube. The TGC affects LM heat transfer in a tube. Depending on the MHD-configuration, MF can enhance or weaken this effect. So TGK enhances heat transfer in a horizontal tube. Depending on the combination of electromagnetic and buoyancy forces acting on the flow, the average heat transfer can be decreased or increased.
