Abstrakt

Thermographic investigations into the fuel-surface interaction in FSI-spark-ignition-engines in homogeneous charged mode were carried out using thin heated piston sample sheet metal under atmospheric conditions. The heat flux at the piston surface within the range of the fuel bowl and evaporated equivalent fuel masses can be estimated with the measured transient sample sheet metal temperatures.
