Abstrakt

The heat transfer at a stagnation point in a twodimensional, incompressible laminar flow is studied. The influence of the Prandtl Number on the second order heat transfer which results from the effect of surface curvature in the neighborhood of the stagnation point and boundary layer displacement thickness is demonstrated. Suction and injection at the wall are included in the analysis. Numerical results and asymptotic approximations for small and large Prandtl numbers are given. The heat transfer for small values of wall suction and injection together with large Prandtl numbers is treated separately using the Principle of Least Degeneracy.
