Abstrakt

The present study is concerned with the theoretical prediction of Nusselt numbers in a fully developed annulus vortex flow of fluid. Two cases considered were: 1) Outer tube cooled and 2) Outer tube insulated - with the inner rotating tube wall maintained at uniform and constant temperature in the axial direction. Analysis showed that σ, ratio of Taylor to critical Taylor number is an important parameter. The results obtained using the theoretical expressions derived in this study are compared with the reported results of others and are found to agree reasonably.
