EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF HEAT TRANSFER BY A SINGLE- AND A TRIPLE-ROW ROUND JETS IMPINGING ON SEMI-CYLINDRICAL CONCAVE SURFACES
Abstrakt
An experimental investigation is made to study the heat transfer characteristics of both single-row round jets (SRRJ) and triple-row round jets(TRRJ) impinging respectively on aluminium and copper targets simulating the leading edge of a blade. The Nusselt number can be expressed as a function of Re, Pr and some nondimensional
geometrical parameters. The Lumped Capacity Method is used to evaluate the heat transfer coefficient when the heated targets are allowed to be cooled by impingement jets.
Empirical relations have been correlated by the Least Square Method. Satisfactory results are obtained when the experimental values are compared with the recommended expressions. The recommended expressions are further compared with the correlations recommended by Ref. 3,6 and 7, together with experimental data.
