PARTICLE HEAT TRANSFER
Abstrakt
Heat transfer between packed, agitated and fluidized
beds and immersed surfaces is described by a uniform theory, which takes into account three basic mechanisms such as: wall-to-particle heat transfer, heat conduction in packed beds and heat convection by particle motion.
The combination of these mechanisms leads to the introduction of various dimensionless groups, thus reducing the number of variables as well as anticipating the structure of empirically based correlations. The theory is compared to numerous experimental data taken from various sources. All relevant parameters such
as physical properties of gas and solid, gas pressure, temperature, particle diameter, void fraction, etc. have been taken into consideration within a wide range. In no case serious deviations from theoretical predictions could be found.
