Abstrakt

A simple analytical solution for bubble collapse in the presence of noncondensables is presented for both single- and two-component systems. The solution is based on potential flow, quasi-steady state assumption, and complete mixing of the permanent gas within the bubble. The case of two-component, three-phase system which is characterized by condensate accumulation within the bubble, is treated by introducing a. Prandtl dependent velocity factor which accounts for the tangential immobility of the bubble wall.

The solution presented compares favorably with existing numerical solutions for single- and two-component systems, as well as with experimental data.
