THE STRUCTURE OF TURBULENCE IN THE VISCOUS SUBLAYER NEAR A FLAT WALL
Abstrakt
Theoretically it has been shown here that turbulent motion in the viscous sublayer is determined by large scale eddy disturbances which are highly stretched in longitudinal direction. These eddies have velocities which are significantly more than the local mean velocity of the sublayer. It has been shown that the Reynolds stress damps near the wall and it is proportional to the cube of the distance from the wall.
