Abstract

The work presented here aims to study and optimize the energy performance of a thermodynamic domestic hot water supply production system based on the energy recovery of multi-heat sources, and specifically on the exhausted air of collective dwellings. The whole system is modeled with TRNSYS and validated using experimental data. This allows us to first assess its performance for an operating point of reference. In a second step, we focus on the thermo-hydraulic coupling between the heat pump and the water storage tank through a study of the influence of some parameters. The influence of control parameters was found the most important in the COP of the system. In fact, a COP value of 4.6 is obtained by changing the position of the sensor relative to the intake point of HP. The positions of the tank ports is smaller but is clearly not negligible.
