Abstract

The Department of "Fisica Tecnica" of the University of Rome "La Sapienza" designed and preliminary tested an experimental apparatus for the measure of the heat transfer coefficient in condensation inside an horizontal/inclined tube, with very high concentration of noncondensables. The first experimental results are reported and commented. An experimental campaign is aimed at filling a gap, presently existing in literature, regarding data and correlations on condensation of vapour with noncondensable concentration higher than 10%. The final goal of the experimental activity is the design of innovative safety systems for the removal of heat from industrial plants, characterised by an extremely high reliability and therefore based on "inherent" features and only static components.
