HEAT TRANSFER CHARACTERISTICS OF A DIRECT CONTACT STEAM GENERATOR WITH LOW MELTING POINT ALLOY AND WATER
Abstract
As one of the first steps in the development of a direct contact heat transfer steam generator for fast reactors, the fundamental heat transfer characteristics are evaluated by conducting heat transfer experiments with a low melting point alloy and water. The large differences in the direct contact heat transfer characteristics between boiling and evaporation of a dispersed phase fluid in a low melting point alloy and those in a hot water become clear.
