UNSTEADY BUOYANCY INDUCED FLOW AND HEAT TRANSFER IN A HEATED INCLINED OPEN CHANNEL
Abstract
Detailed numerical analysis is carried out to study unsteady buoyancy-induced flow and heat transfer in a one-side heated inclined channel of finite height. Flow recirculation in the form of multiple cells is noted during the transient processes. Besides, the flow near the unheated plate and the velocity and temperature wakes above the heated plate are highly oscillatory for high Rayleigh number and large inclination angle, so as the induced flow rate. Results are also presented for the transient local and average Nusselt numbers.
