Abstract

The results of speculative analysis and numerical solution of a system of differential equations describing conjugated unsteady turbulent convective heat transfer in annuli with arbitrary wall power time-variations are presented. A number of fundamental principles have been revealed. Analytical approach to treat conjugated unsteady heat transfer in annuli has been developed, based on "conjugating" appropriate correlations for nonconjugated problems. The experimental study of unsteady heat transfer in annuli proved the validity of theoretical concepts. The feasibility of quasi-stationary approach to account coolant thermal-physical property variations (Prf/Prw up to 3) and to calculate unsteady turbulent characteristics for flow accelerations up to 300 m/s2 is shown.
