Abstract

This paper presents both theoretical and experimental studies on the turbulent boundary layer along a porous flat plate with uniform fluid injection. On the basis of a new model for the distribution of the shearing stress in the turbulent boundary layer, the effects of the fluid injection are obtained for the various characteristics of the boundary layer: such as the velocity profiles, the distributions of the shearing stress, the temperature profiles, the skin friction coefficients and the heat transfer coefficients. The theoretical results show excellent agreements with the experiments carefully performed.
