Abstract

The heat transfer analysis for the parallel planes, in which the thermal radiation shielding plate is installed at the center, is performed when the flowing medium is radiating gas as well as non-radiating gas. The results of temperature profiles obtained by numerical procedure are summarized for the dimensionless parameter denoting the role of conduction to radiation and the dimensionless coordinate of flow direction, and the heat transfer characteristics are examined in some details, especially regarding the augmentative effect by using the shielding plate, and it is recognized that the installation of thermal radiation shielding plate is an effective augmentation device for high temperature systems.
