EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF LAMINAR FREE CONVECTION ABOUT SHORT VERTICAL FLAT PLATES AND A HORIZONTAL DISCS AT SMALL GRASHOF NUMBERS
Abstract
Results of an experimental investigation of steady state laminar free-convection flow about a short vertical
flat plate and a finite horizontal disc for small Grashof numbers between 0.9−35.0 and Prandtl numbers between 2750−3300 are presented. The test medium was glycerin and the hydrogen bubble technique was employed to obtain qualitative as well as quantitative characteristics of the flow field.
