International Heat Transfer Conference 6
1978, 7-11 August, Toronto, Canada
The general papers contained in this volume were presented in poster sessions at the Sixth International Heat Transfer Conference, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, August 7-11, 1978. The presentation of general papers in poster sessions was one element of the new format to be used at the Conference. The other elements included keynote papers (state-of-the-art reviews), panel workshops, informal elements and an equipment exhibition. The various elements were integrated into a program which was designed to encourage effective communication amongst the members of the world heat transfer community.

A key feature of the program was the panel workshops in ten theme areas of major current concern in heat transfer. The purpose of the panel workshops was to promote the incorporation of research in the fundamentals and science of heat transfer into practice and application.
The Conference was organized so that all relevant general and keynote papers preceded the panel workshop in a particular theme area, so that the panel workshop provided an overall perspective on the theme and a summary of the contributions of the Conference to it.
