Abstract

This paper deals with experimental investigations on the rewetting of hot horizontal surfaces by water. The experiments, which include visual observations on the mechanism of rewetting and measurement of rewetting velocity, have been carried out on exposed surface as well as rectangular ducts of different height, at atmospheric pressure. Data generated for different values of flow and initial surface temperature are presented and discussed.
