Abstract

The present study elucidates that boiling crisis and transition boiling are the phenomena closely connected with periodical behaviors of fluid in general. High-speed photography is employed for the study, and experiments are made for saturated boiling of water on a heated flat copper surface mainly 10 mm in diameter under various conditions of orientation, pressure, and depth.
