NUMERICAL UNSTEADY SIMULATION OF BUOYANCY INDUCED TURBULENT FLOW IN A PARTIALLY OPEN ENCLOSURE
摘要
A detailed numerical analysis is carried out to study
laminar and turbulent transient buoyancy induced flow in a partially open enclosure. A flow generated by a heat source located on a wall of an enclosure with a single opening is analyzed. The temperature and flow fields are computed for both laminar and turbulent conditions for a wide range of governing parameters, in particular the Rayleigh number ranges from 104~1012. The Prandtl number is taken as that corresponding to air at normal conditions, Pr=O.71, and the aspect ratio of the enclosure may be varied. The particular interest in the investigation is the transient effects on the point near both ceiling and vertical wall where the temperature sensor would be located. The transient turbulent effects on the temperature and flow fields within a partially open enclosure along with laminar computation are reported.
The numerical verification was carried out by comparison of
our results with steady laminar and turbulent results reported
previously in the literature.
